Plus Points (+)

We are growing up with watching lots of socially dramatic movies where the hero surrenders his whole life to change his village conditions, but Director Bose Venkat comes with a similar idea where the content of the movie is the same but the script is different. The whole movie revolves around one line: everyone has the right to education who belongs to any cast and relegion, no matter.

Fast Half is decent in terms of drama and comedy, where Vimal shines as a young teacher who is down to earth and believes every student has a right to freedom of education. The first hour totally revolves around school, where students and Vimal's comedy scenes add an extra layer of fun, while when the movie becomes serious in many scenes, the director moves the camera angle towards Chaya Devi and Vimal's romantic scenes, which is good.

But the second half is the perfect combination of action and thriller when Siraj S character entered his presence, available to the first half but active after interval. The second half is very similar to the Vaathi film, which was released in 2023. Because in the Vaathi movie, private school principal Srinivas Tripathi is the villain, while in this movie Sakthivel, a local landlord plays the villain role.

Vimal as Gnanam mostly shines in the first half, where his comedy dialogues towards mischievous students and romantic scenes between Chaya Devi bring this movie to the next level, but his performance is faded in action scenes.

Siraj S. as Sakthivel is the backbone of the film, because without action, the movie is incomplete. He is available on the movie till the first half, but when it's time, he is inactive. But the second half totally revolves around him, where his weapon is his repaid fire, bold dialogues, and misuse of his grandfather's reputation.

Chaya Devi as Valli Nayagi is the lead actress; her performance adds glamour to the movie; her acting as a teacher is OK, but she becomes popular through romantic scenes with Vimal; she stands with him in any extreme situation.

Minus Points (-)

No doubt Vimal is the most talented and popular actor in the entire Tamil film industry. He works better in comedy and romantic scenes, but his performance is faded in action scenes because Vimal is popular for his comedy and his style, not just action.

Siraj S is perfect in the villain role. He could be even better, especially in the second half, if makers give him more freedom to express himself. Because in some scenes, his character looks compressed.

Technical Aspects

Director Bose Venkat’s biggest strength is how he brings together a team of talented individuals to create a film that is the perfect combination of power and humanity. Sir, the movie is fictional, but the story is real. There are many villages all over India where upper castes suppress lower castes and treat themselves like slaves.

Siddhu Kumar's music is decent, but his background music is next level and uplifting many action scenes, while Iniyan J. Harris's cinematography is awesome; how he captured small to small details of Tamil Nadu Village nature is next level and satisfying.
