Pottel 2024 Telugu Movie Critique
Plus points (+)
Nowadays Telugu cinema has lost its charm, Because nowadays it's producing the majority of movies where action and comedy are full, but culture and tradition are missing. That's why in 2024 there are only five movies, which gives a better result in box office collection. But director Sahit Mothkhuri, who is new in the film industry, comes with Pottel, which is the complete combination of South Indian culture and tradition, action, thriller, drama, and romance.
The first half is slow pace and a combination of drama and thriller where we see Gangadhar's lower middle person who wants to educate his daughter Saraswati against village head order. As an audience perspective, I can say the Pottel movie gives you mixed feelings; sometimes it feels like you are watching any type of historical drama and something inspiring movie where one person tries to change the whole village mindset. While on the other side, violence is the lead emotion in the second half.
First half is okay if you come with family and family, but maybe the second half is not suitable for your family, especially for children whose age is below 16 years old, because the second half is completely filled with violence, action, and thrillers where comedy and romance are boiled water vapors.
Yuva Chandraa's performance in Gangadhar is next level as a person who raises his voice against village head decisions where children who belong to the upper caste and rich families have the right to education while children who belong to the lower caste have limited options to livelihood but they don't have rights to education because it's a village head decision.
Ajay as Patel is a negative and dominant character in this film while the movie revolves around him. In the cinema hall, everyone appreciates Ajay's acting rather than movie hero Yuva Chandraa.
Minus Points (-)
Director Sahit Mothkhuri did an awesome job in the first half, where everything runs perfectly and smoothly and dramatic and romantic scenes are the backbone of the film. But the second half is fully filled with negative emotions like hate, volience, and emotion scenes, which is not suitable for the parents who come with school-going kids. But perfect for adults.
After getting fame from Mallesham (2019), Ananya Nagalla appears in this film in the lead cast, where the first half of her performance is decent, but the second half is littery missing the majority of times from the screen.
Director Sahit Mothkhuri's intention behind making an educational movie is great, but due to mixing up everything, especially in the second half, his message faded in the depth of action and drama.
