Synopsis
The Greatest of All Time is the story of an Gandhi member of the Special Anti-Terrorist Squad and his latest mission in Kenya to eliminate a terrorist gang led by Menon, who is carrying uranium. His life completely changed when he lost his son Jeevan during one of his missions in Bangkok. But the ground slipped from beneath one's feet when he met his son Jeevan in Moscow, who looked exactly like him. Is this Jeevan? But who is this person who died in Bangkok many years ago?

After given soild performance in Leo, Vijay once again comes with his stylish entry style and officer personality. The Greatest of All Time is the looks-like combination of previous movies of him like Master (2021), Beast (2022), and Leo (2023), Vijay Fans Assamble.
I personally like Vijay movies not because he is a super star or great actor, but because he is the Amir Khan of the Tamil film industry. His movies are free from adult scenes and dark comedy. That's why many family members recommend his movies to their children who are now below 18+.
Vijay's Leo is 2x better than GOAT, but his entery style and calm personality are the same in both movies. First half is slow pace and testing the audience’s patience. Where Vijay Action and Yogi Babu Comedy scenes work as air conditioners in the movie,, while the second half is well managed and a combination of thriller, suspense, and revenge.
Vijay, who appeared in a dual role in this movie performance, is excellent as a father who goes any length to take revenge of his son. Movie story is predictable, but his dialogue and the next movie are unpredictable. As an M. S. Gandhi, his performance is decent where he plays the role of a member of the Special Anti-Terrorist Squad who kills terrorist groups abroad.
But movie suspense depends on Jeevan (played by Vijay). The first half of the movie runs in normal mode, but a twist comes before the interval when he meets his son Jeevan in Moscow, but in M.S. Gandhi's eyes, his son already died in Bangkok several years ago. Who is this person who looks exactly like his son?
Supporting cast members like Prabhudeva, Jayaram, Prashanth, Mic Mohan, and Sneha deliver okay performances in their limited roles. But makers give more space to Yogi Babu as a Diamond Babu.

This time Thalapathi magic does not work, which worked in times of Leo and Beast. Director trying to make The GOAT is the Indian Mission Impossible, but due to pacing issues and predictable story, his mission is failed.
The second half is the backbone of the movie, which grabs audience attention through the climax. But first half looks like you're watching Big Boss, where all contestants show their talents back to back to fulfill screen only.
Menon's, as a Mohan, lacks depth and fails to give vibes of a villain, while on the other side , Meenakshi Chaudhary, who did a wonderful performance in Singapore Saloon (2024), gives more freedom to express herself.
Technical Aspects
After gaining fame from Victim (2022) and Custody (2023), Director Venkat Kumar Gangai Amaren, aka Venkat Prabhu, now works with super star Vijay. Cast selection and movie story are good, but Venkat Prabhu’s direction and screenplay are the film’s weak points.
Siddhartha Nuni gains total credit for movie success because his cinematography skills are outstanding, like the de-aging of Vijay, who looks like 29 or 30 years old; we already saw his camera skills in Captain Miller, while on the Venkat Raajen gets full makes in editing.
