Plus Points (+)
After celebrating the success of Acharya (2022), Director Koratala Siva once again comes back with an action thriller movie where he casts N. T. Rama Rao Jr. and Saif Ali Khan in lead roles. While Janhvi Kapoor, Shruti Marathe, and more appeared in supporting roles.
Once again, Jr. NTR spread his energetic action scenes magic on the audience, which he spread in RRR times, while Saif Ali Khan, who is Tom Cruise of the Bollywood movie, looks very young and energetic in this film, especially in the first half.
The first half is the brisk pace and combinations of action, thriller, and friendship, where director Koratala Siva totally focuses on Jr. NTR and secondary on Saif Ali Khan. It looks like you're watching Bahubali (2015), where the makers majority of Times focus on Prabhas and then Rana Daggubati. While the other side's second half is a mixture of suspense, drama, and revenge.
If I conclude the above paragraph in one line, the first half is fast pace and dramatic, while the second half is slow pace, a little bit romantic, and filled with suspense and thriller.
Without music, a movie is incomplete, Because nowadays, makers use music for marketing, not just engaging elements in films. A good song gives complete details of the film, like how the hero or heroine is and several details that are not shown in the thriller and teaser. Back to topic: Anirudh Ravichander's Aayudha Pooja song is an uplifting film, but his background score adds an extra layer of thriller and suspense.
Tarak, aka Jr. NTR, is famous for his energetic action scenes. We saw his performance in RRR, and now once again he comes back with another action, thriller, and revenge film where he appeared in a double role. The first one is Devara, a smuggler who smuggled goods from Red Sea with his teammates.
The first half of his performance is outstanding and perfectly matches with his character, where his dialogues deliver and action scenes grab audience attention from the beginning and maintain till the interval. But in the second half, as a Vara, it looks like someone takes all his energy from his body (a timid guy), which surprises audiences.
Through Devara: Part 1 Saif Ali Khan debuts in the Telugu film industry, where he shines as Bhaira, who wants to take revenge on Devara. The first half of his performance is commendable as an Devara friend, but in the second half he leads the movie forward and becomes an enemy of Devara.
Minus Points (-)
Yes, it is true that Koratala Siva's film Devara: Part 1 has many flaws, like a predictable storyline, some lagging scenes in the second half, and Janhvi Kapoor's limited screen time.
Janhvi Kapoor, who is the most talented young actress in entire Bollywood, is nowhere visible in the first half of Devara Part 1. But she appears in the second half, where she adds glamour to the film through her natural beauty, but her romantic scenes with Jr. NTR aren’t great.
Devara: Part 1 looks very similar to what he saw in the film trailer, but the Jr. NTR audience was left disappointed with the surprising exclusion of the Daavudi song.
