Plus Points (+)

Nowadays audiences become smart; they don't blindly follow their super stars to watch their movies. That's why in the Bollywood and Kollywood film industries, big-budget movies fail to entertain audiences through their cliched stories, while on the other side, small-budget movies do well on box office collections due to their unique and interesting story.

When I watched this movie, I was surprised to see that it was very similar to the Hindi film "Taare zameen par." The difference is that in Taare zameen par, Amir Khan is the center of attraction, while in this film, Nivetha Thomas becomes the hero of his son, who is always scolded by his grades.

The first half is the slow pace and combinations of comedy, family drama, and director Nanda Kishore Emani. The majority of times focus on Arun struggling in school, where his math teacher Chanakya always harasses him in front of the whole class due to his poor grades. On the other side, the second half is also slow, but one thing that holds audiences through their seats is the audience mind of Nivetha Thomas character Saraswathi, who is 10th fail and tries to help his son overcome his math fear. Is Saraswathi successful in her mission or not is watchable.

Arundev Pothula, who plays the role of Arun, is the backbone of the film. Because the whole movie revolves around him, he looks very similar to Darsheel Safary as an Ishaan Awasthi in Taare zameen par. His performance is 2x better than nowadays nepotism kids.

Gain popularity through Saakini Daakini (2022). Nivetha Thomas appears in this movie as a lead cast member, where she plays the role of Saraswathi (Arun mom), a simple innocent housewife who takes care of both her husband and children's. In the first half, she has nothing to do much, but in the second half, she shines with her acting, where she becomes mom and friends of her son to overcome his math fobiya.

After receiving mixed reviews from Darling (2024), actor Priyadarshi Pulikonda comes back with a serious mode where he plays the role of Chanakya Varma, a math teacher of Arun. His acting is commendable.

Minus Points (-)

The movie story is interesting and inspiring, but due to the slow pace in both halves, it looks like movie duration is artificially increasing.

Movies have the potential to change the mindset of Indian parents, who always judge their sons and daughters on behalf of grades. But due to a lack of emotional depth, especially in the second half, the movie fails to touch the inner layers of the audience's heart.

If Marker focuses on adding more emotional depth in the Saraswathi and Arun bond, that's maybe becoming a game changer, because sometimes it looks like Saraswathi is a mother who is always busy with her housework and doesn't have enough time to give her son, who is struggling with math, fobiya.

Conclusion

If you're struggling to find a movie that you can watch with family and friends without any hesitation of dark comedy and adult scenes, I recommend the "35 Chinna Katha Kaadu" movie to everyone who is now available on this page.
