Synopsis
Andhagan is the story of Krishna, an aspiring pianist who lives alone with his cat and pretends to be blind to boost his career. One day, Karthik invites Krishna to perform at his anniversary celebration. What he saw at the anniversary function, who is Kani, and why does Krishna go to the police station?

Prashanth, who was mostly popular in 90's and 20's films after giving a solid performance in Vinaya Vidheya Rama (2019), disappeared from the Tamil and Telugu film industries. Five years later, he comes back with the Andhagan remake of the 2018 Hindi film Andhadhun, where Ayushmann Khurrana and Tabu appeared in the lead cast.
It is correct that Andhagan is the remake of Andhadhun, which is now freely available on YouTube. But due to the same change in camera angles and dialogues as the original, if you haven't seen Andhadhun due to a language barrier or other personal reason,. I think Andhagan is the best option for you, where you can see some comedy and dramatic scenes by actor Prashanth.
The first half is slow pace and a mixture of comedy and dramatic scenes of Prashanth as a blind pianist. But if you're a lover of suspense and thrillers, the second half is the best for you, like how he hides his blind personality for a long time from everyone who has doubts about him, and more.
Yogi Babu, who is popular for his comedy and funny jokes, appears in the supporting cast, where his comedy talent grabs audience attention, while the other side's KS Ravikumar performance is top notch as an Dr. Sami, and other supporting cast members like Oorvasi, Vanitha, Vijayakumar, Manobala, Besant Ravi, Leela Samson, Ramesh, and more did the needed.
The biggest plus point of the Andhagan movie is its casting, because everyone who has already seen the original movie knows the story of the movie. But they don't know the lead cast's performances and dialogues. Casting Prashanth as the lead actor is a wonderful idea of director Thiagarajan. Because Prashanth has already appeared in humorous and thriller movies in the past, he is the best for this role.
After giving an excellent performance in Aranmanai 4 Cameo, Rishibala Naval aka Simran Bagga, appears in a negative role where she plays the role of Karthik's wife Simi. She surprises the audience through her dialogue and action scenes like trying to kill Krishna through her car and more.
Prashanth's performance as Krishna is watchable in the first half, where he shines with his comedy and funny dialogues. But the second half is more interesting than the first one. In the second half, his condition is like that of a person who falls into his own trap.

Fastly jumping from one situation to another without a second's break is creating confusion in the audience's mind.
Santhosh Narayanan's music fails to attract audience attention, while the editing skills of Satish Surya are decent.
