Synopsis

Aishwarya Rajinikanth is back with her third film, "Laal Salaam," starring Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth in lead roles, with cameo appearances by Kapil Dev and Superstar Rajinikanth. The first half of the movie focuses primarily on drama and a few cricket matches. Vishnu Vishal, the lead actor, delivers a commendable performance as Thirunavukarasu. In the beginning, Thirunavukarasu, a young Muslim man addicted to alcohol, plays cricket well but does not take it seriously. However, a Hindu temple priest predicts that he will bring honor to his village by winning a cricket match trophy, prompting Thirunavukarasu to take cricket seriously. The movie conveys a message of religious unity.
After the success of the movie "Jailer," Superstar Rajinikanth plays a significant role as Moideen Bhai. In the second half, when the movie starts to drag, Rajinikanth's grand entry reinvigorates the film. One of his memorable dialogues is, “I trust the justice system. I just don’t trust a few black sheep in the system.” Rajinikanth is known for his impactful dialogues and unique entry style. His portrayal of Moideen Bhai, a man known for living by his terms and ethics and believing in religious unity, is notable.
A surprising and unpredictable moment in the film is the entry of cricket legend Kapil Dev in the second half. Additionally, Amit Tiwari's performance as the villain is excellent; he was last seen on the Bigg Boss television show in 2018.

The biggest drawback of this movie is Sai Kumar’s voice for Rajinikanth’s character, as fans prefer hearing their favorite actor's original voice. Jeevitha Rajasekhar, who plays Moideen's sister, has a very short role.
Technical Analysis
Every movie has two sides: the front, featuring the actors, and the back end, involving the director, producer, scriptwriter, and more. Director Aishwarya Rajinikanth, who is also Rajinikanth's daughter, mentioned in a recent interview that scriptwriter and cinematographer Vishnu Rangasamy narrated two scripts to her. "One was a commercial love story and the second was this. This was more challenging as this is not my zone, and taking this up felt meaningful," she said, indicating the pressure of choosing the right story to captivate the audience. She has directed several hit movies like "Cinema Veeran" (2017) and "Vai Raja Vai" (2015) And More.
Cinematography by Vishnu Rangasamy is commendable. Although new to the Tamil film industry, his hard work is evident in this movie. His first film was "Annanukku Jai," released in 2018. The movie is edited by B. Pravin Baaskar, with perfectly integrated background colors and music composed by A. R. Rahman.
Conclusion
"Laal Salaam" is a sports drama that depicts the struggle of aspiring cricketers. Director Aishwarya Rajinikanth adds elements of action, romance, and thriller to the movie. I recommend this movie to everyone.
